Dani Reisbaum
MSW Intern
Supervised by Sarah Zepeda-Nguyen, LCSW #71803
Dani began exploring holistic approaches to wellness while completing her undergraduate degree at Emory University in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Mental Health and Culture. She continues her studies as a graduate student at the University of Southern California where she is pursuing her Master’s in Social Work.
In terms of therapeutic approach, Dani believes collaboration and compassion are at the root of a successful therapeutic relationship. She offers an open, non-judgmental space where her clients can speak honestly about their thoughts and experiences while working towards their personal goals. She uses a client-centered and trauma-informed approach that takes into account the unique history, beliefs, values and preferences of her clients. She enjoys incorporating mindfulness and somatic exercises in her work, as those practices can aid in regulating emotions, deepening feelings of connectedness, fostering a sense of safety in the nervous system and releasing the stress (and trauma) held in the body.
Dani is an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist who works with her clients to notice and break down societal scripts, pressures, and ‘shoulds’. With that breaking down comes a unique opportunity to rebuild, discover and get curious about what you want in life and what support would help you get there.
Some areas that she is especially passionate about working with are anxiety, life-transitions, gender, sexuality, identity, relationship dynamics, self-esteem, depression, sexual assault, trauma and chronic pain.
Dani understands that seeking support can be a challenging and confusing process. She is here to meet you where you are at, with care and compassion.
