DENISS CANTOR
Deniss attended the University of California Santa Barbara to obtain undergraduate training and acquired her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena where she specialized in Trauma.
Deniss began her career in therapy working with adolescents learning to manage the effects of immigration trauma and community violence. She continued her work with the latinx population by working as a wraparound therapist where she supported children and their families in overcoming attachment ruptures, managing symptoms of PTSD, and learning about and managing the challenges of generational trauma. Deniss then continued her trauma work with adults and older adults with severe and chronic mental illness to support them in better understanding their symptoms and themselves.
Deniss works with adults dealing with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and life stressors that make it hard for them to have fulfilling lives and relationships. She strongly believes in identifying sources of emotional discomfort, learning healthy ways to manage these feelings, and developing effective communication and coping skills to help build or repair relationships. Deniss is a strength-based psychodynamic therapist that uses motivational interviewing, meditation, and sensory tools to create individualized treatment, identifying which strategies work best for you in and out of sessions.
Deniss offers therapy sessions in Spanish and English. She works with adult clients age 18 and up. She provides individual, couples and family therapy sessions.
